I started listening to Faith No More 11 years ago and I really liked "angel dust" album. I heard mike patton was "god" so I decided to read about Mike Patton and I discovered he had so many side projects and other bands with music that was really unfamiliar to me that was not on TV (not on mtv , not vh1 and not at mtv2). Mr.bungle was the first interesting music with many tools and style that I never heard before. I found Mike patton has so many voices and noises he can make with his voice. Then I decided to check out ipecac label that Mike manages with a partner. There are many music artists there and the ocean of music is just incredible !!! You can read about the artists and and then look for their music at youtube. Yesterday I decided to check out fantomas and tanya tagaq . tanya tagaq sings a kind of music that reminds me a lullaby and a saw . She actually uses her throat as a music instrument !! Fantomas is a band of mike patton and they have some heavy metal attacks in their songs and most of the time they make a music that is so unpredictable. This is amazing. I also read about the first artist on the list , named Alain johannes his story is interesting , he uses a special guitar and sings out of his sorrow about his wife that died. For me , mike patton is the portal between metal and avant-garde music , experimental music and other music genres that are not on the main stream, I really recomend you to check out the music. I warn you , you need some patience to like that music , it is not pop , not metal and not any main stream genre. Do you have any more suggestions about what to listen to from ipecac ?
