Looking for a cheap FUN class.....

i want to go back to school but before i do that i want to take a not so important class that is fun. it doesnt have to be a class like a college or anything i mean like a class where you learn something fun that would just make you better at something you enjoy. i know someone doing a cake decorating class and i do not know much about it tho and we hardly ever have time to talk about it. i have heard of like sewing classes but i do not know how to sew lol never really cared til i had kids hahaha
what is your thoughts? do you know of any fun cheap classes? it doesnt have to be a class you can go to it can be online :)

There are alot of different things that you can do and try. If you go to the community collage and talk to them about it. They can at least get your address and send you a book with all the different classes that they offer like that. I actually just got a book in the mail just yesterday. They offer alot of different things. They offer cake decorating classes and sewing classes and all kinds of different things. Not sure if there is any online things that you can take or not. If there is online classes that you can take then they will cost more not sure why but they charge more for online classes then regular classes.
I am not really taking a cake decorating class persay. It is but its not. It is a fondante class. Its all about fondante icing. They do offer cake decorating classes though that is class number 1 and 2, im taking number 3 and then class number 4 also is a fondante class. The thing is though the class it self didnt cost but like $17.50 but then when you start buying everything that you need for the class it gets very pricey. You have to buy your own fondante and that is $10 just for one little box and you need alot of different colors and you need several lbs of it and there is only 1 lbs in each box. You also have to buy kits that you use that has special tools in it. But once you get the stuff the first time you dont have to get it again you can reuse the stuff over and over unless you break it. But it is really really fun. Even if something does not turn out right for you it is still fun and the teacher is there to help you out.
Would you like to take these kind of classes?
Would you ever use the info that you learn from the fondante classes?
If you would use it how would you use it?

i may look into them sending me the book because i know i am going to go back to school but it would be nice to have "a just for fun class" i guess something to take the edge off if that makes any sence at all lol. i guess the online classes cost more because it is for the convienance but i am not sure lol i just figured with my busy life that would be the best option but if it is that expensive i am sure that i will not be doing that haha
it sounds like it is a lot of fun. if it is not a class persay what is it exactly?? what i mean by that is do they grade you? or is it just for fun to learn new things?
yea a class like that would be awesome but i dont think i would ever have enough gas to get to one and it sounds like it gets pretty expensive amd i know i do not have the money for that :( i think that if in the end i found it fun yes i would use what i learned but even of for some reason i didnt find it fun (which i am sure i would) i would use it for birthdays and holidays things like that :) and i think i would do it for fun if i had the time and nothing to do and i had the materials it would give me something to make and it would look and taste great in the end :) it would be really AWESOME to sell my work but i am sure mine would never be that good lol
what are you planning on doing with your work when you are done with the class?

Yeah i dont blame you on not wanting to take it if it cost alot more. And i do understand because doing a fun class that you want to do it is so much fun and you are getting a break for the children and the husbands lol.
You are not graded on your work in this class. You are basically paying and taking the class just to learn how to do something new and fun to do.
If you take the same class that i am taking you could always ride with me and give me just a few bucks like less then 5 bucks, well i say that but then again with the way gas prices are going lol i would have to figure it up but to be honest with you im for sure it would only b like 2 or 3 bucks and you wouldnt have to give it to me every week you could just wait till the end or the begging and give it all at once what ever lol. The next class that i am talking i am taking with mama and so that wouldnt cost any gas lol i always ride, or drive her truck lol. The next class is also the begging of regular icing. You learn to decorate cakes with just plain icing so that shouldn't get to pricey.
Im really not sure what i am going to do with my work right now. I mean i now for sure that i will be doing holidays like you said. I would really like to make and decorate cakes to sell for some extra money but that would so take some time to get use to doing everything and make sure that i now how to do everything really well. Right now im really ruff on alot of things and getting mad at my work and messing up when i get mad. So right now we are going to leave it at holidays and birthdays just like you lol. I mean if a friend or family asked me to do a simple cake for them then i would for sure try and do my best and make sure that it turned out great but as far as others yeah that would so have to be a no!

my husband doesnt make enough for any extra gas if i had a few extra dollars i could put it in my own car to get to you guys to ride with yall hahaha so i probly wont be able to take it. no big deal i guess cuz itll get pretty pricey for the cake mixes and the icing and i am not very good at cooking anyways. i think i would mess up on the cake its self hahaha you know me :)
lol i hear ya on that. probly best to stick to just family, holidays, or birthdays until you got better but then again the pictures i have seen look pretty good :)
i think that would be me to getting mad at me messing up A LOT haha.
