why people think learning Chinese is difficult?

a lot of people freak out about learning Mandarin, I wonder why is that? my mother language is Mandarin and I teach Mandarin in online tutor website, I would like to share my experiences to help people who wants to learn this language. A lot of people are interested in learning Mandarin but most people think speaking Mandarin is too difficult due to our symbolic characters, most people see that, got freak out. well, dont be then, You will pick it up and recognise it gradually as long as you keep learning, that's not the MAIN PART OF LEARING. The main part of learning is to SPEAK AND PRONUNCE this language. Learn how to speak in Mandarin is not that difficult really, as long as you know what's pinyin. I am a Chinese, but I also find learning Chinese is very difficult. I have a friend who is an English. And he learns Chinese and therefore sometimes I help him. Sometimes I even find it is too difficult to explain to him about the Chinese questions. I love China

I am a Chinese too.And this year i learn more language like Japanese or Yue.Maybe i am interest in learning all kind of language.So if you want to learn more,just do it.Don't find any reason to give up.Come on~

It actually is quite difficult for people who haven't grown up around the language. The reason it seems easy to you is that it's your native language, but it is notoriously one of the most difficult languages to teach. Good luck to you!
