songs of all time. this is according to a poll that they did from their readers. here is the link to the complete list, http://health.yahoo.net/articles/fitness/photos/10-greatest-workout-songs-all-time#0. i actually listened to most of the songs featured in the list. quite a few are my favorite. i definitely like metallica's 'enter sandman', cake's 'the distance', black sabbath's 'war pigs', ac/dc's 'thunderstruck' and 'back in black', kanye west's 'stronger', and eminem's 'lose yourself'. the rest are so-so in my opinion. hearing 'eye of the tiger' or the theme from 'rocky' won't do much for me. same thing with queen's 'another one bites the dust'. i have a play list for my work out sessions and i always listen to cypress hill's 'can't get the best of me'. here is the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUF99Ot06e0. the song is pure adrenaline from start to finish and it just puts me in the right mindset regardless if i'm hitting the gym, the court, the ring, or the oval. anyway, when you work out, what songs do you mostly listen to? i'd like to see what other mylotters listen to when working out.

Mate, your link was a little bit screwed up, but I got there in the end. It should be: http://health.yahoo.net/articles/fitness/photos/10-greatest-workout-songs-all-time#0.%3C There are some of my favourite songs on that list as well. Most songs by AC/DC, Black Sabbath or Metallica will always go well. I love most of them. Cake maybe. Yeah, I agree with leaving out Queen, Eye of the tiger and the Rocky song. All good, but not enough to get me moving. I would leave out Eminem and Kanye too, not really my thing. Add in some Rage Against the Machine, System Of the Down and similar, maybe some Queens Of the Stone Age and that works for me! They will get me going harder! I love a bit of Cypress Hills early stuff, but Hits Trom The Bong is not really something to work out too! Rock Superstar perhaps.

what's up mate? yeah, the whole entry came out weird. i was trying to highlight the link but it turned out highlighting the whole thing. lol! i definitely dig rage against the machine and see myself working out to their songs. the only system of the down song i know is 'chop suey' and yeah i can definitely work out with that song blasting in the background. i listen to queens of stone age but i never really thought of their songs as work out songs. to each his own my friend. lol about your cypress hill comment on 'hits form the bong'. that song is meant to provide an aural background to a different activity. thanks for participating mate. cheers!

This QOTSA song always gets me going. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25wRp7fBoW8 Very powerful with Dave Grohl on drums. I saw them live during this album tour at a festival with Dave playing drums. He also featured on guitar and singing with the Foo Fighters at the same show! Here are a couple of other System of a down songs that get me moving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUa5yJNaLBs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6foDt1gSzA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vVOO4zDk7w They are awesome videos too!

thanks for the links bill. those are really great videos. creative way to use lego in that 'byob' music video! i can definitely include system of a down's 'bounce' and 'byob' in my playlist. not so much with 'toxicity' and that song by queens of stone age. i love dave grohl and the foo fighters. i can think of a number of foo fighters' songs that i can include in my playlist, 'learn to fly','this is a call', 'monkey wrench', and 'best of me'. cheers mate!

Songs are good for workouts but i don't like those that makes my adrenaline rush. I prefer something relaxing, smooth, calming for my mind and soul. That's a perfect match to my runs when i want to relax, enjoy myself, at my own pace. Most people thinks that running and instrumental music doesn't go together, but it does. We workout to enjoy the benefits of it, not to show off how fast we go, how heavy we lift. With that, fast tempo or hard music are not my cup of tea.

hi sanitary. i understand your point. to each his own my friend. having said that, what sort of music do you listen to? care to give specific examples? i ask because i want to expand my playlist of songs for my workout sessions. most are really fast songs but i wouldn't mind adding slow ones if it'll work for me. cheers and happy mylotting!
