What a Waste of Investment

We had a company outing (Coron) so i thought of surfing over Sulit.com for a nice but cheap catic snorkeling gear. I have found one and it costs Php500 compared to Speedo's Php1200. So, i told my officemates about it and many were very eager to buy one!
Here comes snorkeling time... the boatmen stopped over a good coral reef for us to snorkel. Yahoo! Its time to use my snorkeling gear! When my officemates learned of the depth, they got frightened! One said, "oh its soooooo deep, i can't handle it," the other one says, "i cant breath through my nose in a catic mask!" Now that is pathetic and quite frustrating.
What a waste of investment! If you cant challenge yourself into something, then dont buy anything related to it. I am not complaining, its just that it is such a waste...

What difference does the depth make if you are snorkeling?
Also, who doesn't know how to breathe through a snorkeling mask???
