Playing tennis is a lot of fun, and to most people being a member of a tennis club will be a great way to play tennis regularly. In my tennis club, I have joined 3 tournaments and in other clubs I joined about another 3 tournaments and all those experiences made playing tennis more special for me, win or lose ( Although I won a few 1st places and a few second places which makes it even more special ). How about you, have you tried joining tennis tournaments before? How was your experience with it? And how about those who haven't tried it, would you like to experience it in the future?

I haven't tried competing in tennis tournaments. The reason is because I am just a beginner and is still learning how to play the game properly. I must admit that I still have some awkward forms until now. Anyway, I am looking forward to experience playing in such tournaments in the future. I just have to polish my form and skills first because I don't want to dumped big time during tournaments!

Good luck to your tennis endeavors, AgentGulaman. I want to tell you that joining tennis tourneys makes playing a lot more fun and challenging. I used to watch a lot of tennis on tv and in youtube while also buying tennis magazines to get as many tips as possible from professional tennis coaches. That way, my awareness and knowledge about tennis grew very fast. Knowing a lot of strategies in tennis and some tips and tricks about playing won't matter much if you don't have time to practice what you have learned. So I believe learning the tennis secrets and playing a lot to practice what you have just learned would do the trick in improving your level of play.

Yes, you are right! Also playing tennis in a competitive environment such as tournaments can facilitate learning of new techniques and strategies form other players. Playing in tournaments develop the tennis skills. Yes, putting time and effort is required to fully be able to advance in any sport. I do read a lot of resources in the internet regarding proper tennis form and strategies and also watch a lot from professional tennis players.

I've never tried it. I only played some tennis for fun. But I have a friend that won a national competition two days ago and in the same they, along with his brother, they lost in the final for double. Great results in my opinion especially for them who started playing tennis four years ago.

I haven't played in many years so to participate in a tournament now would be unlikely. When I used to play a lot, I wasn't a member of a club so the closed I came to a tournament was what was called ladder competition which I did a few times. One was when I was in graduate school and was a mixed doubles one. My partner was a young woman I had met at the courts and who I played singles with sometimes. She was one of the few women who I played at that time who could give me a decent match. I was a very hard hitter at the time and most women could not handle it, but she had grown up playing with several brothers and was more accustomed to handling hard hit balls.
