Having a massage can be such a pleasurable experience. After the massage, we usually feel so relaxed we just want to lie down and sleep for a few hours. Besides being such a relaxing experience, do you think massage can also be good for our health? And if yes, in what ways could it help better our health? And do you know if there are particular illness it could cure?

Having a body massage is very relaxing and it tends to release or minimize the pain we are going through. sometimes there are joints or muscles needed to be stretched out for our bodies to function normally, specially the veins. it does help circulate blood sometimes...

Yes, I agree that massages do help in improving our blood circulation. And because massages are good in removing muscle pains and joint pains, I can understand why athletes get massage treatments to remove body pains after playing.

No, I'm not a professional athlete but I just saw on tv some athletes having a massage to remove their body pains after their game. I guess boxers can benefit a lot from it, but I think you're right that they don't immediately get massage treatment after their games.

Oh really? are you an athlete?
yes, it is good to have massages when you got tired but then not to the point of too much tiredness and you got massage immediately. i guess you have to rest for a couple of hours or so before getting massage...

I agree, massages I think are similar to acupressure and acupuncture in which they target certain points in the body that would help us improve our health. I believe in that medical theory that every points in our body affects certain parts of our organs, so an expert massage needs to know all about those particular body points to give good effects to the patients 'problem areas' in his body.

In my case, I remember always feeling sleepy after a good massage. Concerning curing diseases, I'm not sure either but I have a good feeling many diseases are cured because of massage treatments. I can imagine though that regular treatments and not just a one-time treatment can cause the healing effects in the body.
There is a popular massage bed combined with heat therapy that is popular in my country which is named "Ceragem Bed" and this bed has some kind of "roller" going up and down the bed to massage your full back while the bed emits some type of special healing heat, and another two heating gadgets are connected to the bed and are used to be placed in any parts of your body that you have particular pains or are sick, and they help in healing those areas of your body. Have anyone heard about this?

During a massage session...Your body releases endorphin, Its something that our body secretes when we feel good, usually our body releases it after exercise, love making, watching a super funny comedy film or when we are in love.Endorphin is good for the health.
Well if you cant afford a massage or have no time for endorphin releasing activities. well eating a fruit we popularly known as banana actually releases endorphin. endorphin cant actually make our life longer.

Okay, now I will remember that pineapple also releases endorphins. Maybe we can research it online and someone may have named the fruits that do help release endorphins. I will try and check it out.

I learned many things from what you shared here, CaptAlbertWhisker. For one, I thought only exercise can release endorphins, but also making love, being in love and having good belly laughs can also release endorphins.
I also didn't know that eating banana can likewise help release endorphins. I now wonder if mangoes does them as well, because I always feel good after eating mangoes...

Massage can be used as form of relaxation and also pain reduction. In some cases, if you are suffering from a backache, during labor, having a massage can make you feel better. It can also be used to enhance sleep for individuals with sleeping problems.

First of all, it helps getting rid of stress, which can be a reason for... almost any kind of health problem, from stomach pains to hair loss. Also, if you for example have ajob, where you have to sit a lot, your shoulders are going to hurt, and massage can make you get rid of thagt pain.

Yes, I think massages works well with office workers and students who have to sit for a long time and their overall blood circulation is hampered due to long durations of sitting on a chair. Because massage is good for the blood circulation, it could really help relieve their pains.
And I also agree that massages releases stress in the body and mind, so it will definitely aid you from getting healthier.

Hi there BetterDays4Me!
I have a friend who is a physical therapist who told me before that massage may help lessen depression, lower blood pressure, and even improve immunity. Based on experience, I do agree with what she said. Moreover, it is one ways by which we could relieve ourselves from stress. And yes, I do agree with you, it is indeed a pleasurable experience.

Hello there dolce_vita!
Concerning depression, I feel massage can really be helpful because when I have a massage I always felt good after that, and depression is simply a state of being in a bad mood that stays for a long time. So if a person has regular massage treatment, he will feel good all the time. Seems really logical.

Body massage helps use to make our body to free from all the pains and other problems. I used to make use of it when I have a a strong pain in my pain and those massages helped me a lot to get them away. I used to make use of body massage followed by the ancient Ayurveda method. I feel it is much effective becuase such massages are done with Ayurveda medicines which are very good for our body. More over such massages do not show any side effects to our body.

It does increase the circulation of the blood. It gives you good relaxation and renewed energy.

Maybe you're right, maybe the right word is not 'increase' but 'improve' blood circulation. I also felt renewed energy and felt very relaxed when I had massages in the past.
