woo hoo!!!!!!! she was awarded a $1250 scholarship. woo hoo!!!!! considering we weren't sure if she'd get anything, this was a big surprise. every penny counts nowadays! we're jumping on cloud 9 today. my sister was able to convince her to stay home and go to the local community college and get her basics done. so she's trying to get that going. she's letting her boss know that she'll work whatever hours they can give her and that she's not planning to leave anytime soon. :) :) :) daddy and i both agree, as long as she's in school, we're not going to charge her any rent. that's one less thing she'll have to worry about.

Oh, she is very lucky indeed. And it is an expensive scholarship too. I hope she does well in school while she balances it with work.

i'm very happy that she chose the local college to go to first. this way she can stay home a little longer. i'm not ready to let her go.

I agree- it is very had for parents to let go of their children since you took care of them for many years. Even i find it hard, thinking that i would leave my family someday to live on my own.. i am still studying now though.

That is wonderful that she got a scholarship. I know the cost of college keeps on going up and if one can get free money it does help out. I know I am in graduate school and I had gotten very little help for my education and had to take out student loans. I am glad that you will not be charging your daughter rent so she can save her money for when she gets into a four year university. I know most parents change their children rent because they feel it teaches them responsibility. That is great that your daughter has a good job because finding work is hard.
