My kids says "mom, it is time for you to look for a boyfriend" a what?

Last night I told my kids I will be out for dinner today. Then my older son said he wants to come. I said "no, you will only get bored there-it's a girl talk" He said "no-it's fine, I will get myself something to do and busy" Here comes my youngest son and said he wants to come too. I told them- I will be staying late and I don't want them to brag me with the time (which they usually do whenever I had a date with my friends and we stay late) My older son suddenly said "okay fine, maybe you don't want us to come because you are meeting a boyfriend and not your girlfriends" and then he laughed so loud (duh) My youngest son said "so what, I don't mind if mom will have a boyfriend as long as he will buy me the latest x-box" (lols) Then my daughter says "why not, yes why not mom- isn't time for you to have a boyfriend" I was kind of WHAT!!!! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING KIDS? Goodness- when kids strike, they will leave you run out of words and can tied your tongue. Awww...how cute! Your kids are really amazing and they love you for sure. It's not about what they want in return - when they suggest you to have the boyfriend - but it's about they want to see you happy. I know relationships are not as easy as they think but they don't know it yet. They just think that if you have a boyfriend you'll be even happier. I think that's cute.

Maybe they feel it really is time you consider dating again. Just because you are dating someone does not mean you have to live with them or Marry them. But at the same token if you have not met a man you would be comfortable with, staying Single is a good option as well. Sounds like it might be time to sit down with your kids when you can and explain your reasoning behind wanting to remain single and hope for the Best from there.

That's nice to hear. As long as you 'll be happy with your new partner and your kids are okay with him why not right? Yes kids are funny and straight forward when telling what's in their mind. Who knows they meant well when they wanted you to be with the right person.

Well, I believe you were going out with the girls. I also think that you might not be ready for a boy friend. And since you have children I guess you don't want to confuse them. Which I applaud. My evil ex did more damage then good getting involved with her new guy. Now he lives with her. What a big mistake at this stage of the game. If the kids were older then I could see it. But your children care about you and want you to be happy. it seems that they are ready for you to have someone and they can handle it.

They know better what I want (hahaha) I asked them " why kids, you're fed up hanging out me that is why you'r driving me to have someone to hang out with"? :p They said...."no, we're just wondering if you want to have a boyfriend, it's been a decade (almost) since you are dating with girl-friend" oh kids.....fine, they are concern

Like I said, they are ready to handle the fact of you with someone else. Maybe you should take their advice. But be aware, they will scrutinize the person you with. They want you to not only be happy but safe as well.

Okay, it's really up to you when to decide to have a father figure...if there would come a time. I know your children would like to have one in the future. It's just up to you to decide on that...isn't it? Of course, if ever there would be a man waiting for you, he would be a loving man who wouldn't care if you already had few little ones. Sometimes it's hard to find men who would love ladies who already had children... If it is your destiny, he will soon come!

Kids nowadays are so smart, jaiho. Maybe it's because of the teleseryes they watch on TV, so they can relate to you too. It's funny though that you as a mom was being encouraged by your kids to have a boyfriend already. Maybe they can sense that you should at this time have someone to replace their never seen anymore dad. How nice of them to be so generous.

In my case I wont want my dad to have a girlfriend and I dont want my mom to have a boyfriend even if they will buy me an X-box... because they still live together in one house and they were still married. Well My dad did have mistress at certain point of his life and he have 2 sons with her(those 2 half brothers are better brothers than my pure brother) My dad decided to stay with my mom in the end. speaking of being a boyfriend, My girlfriend and I had an argument 3 days, she packed her bags and goes back to her parents and she called me the worst boyfriend on earth. Guess what, we are still in the same house again and just have ......Okay I dont need to mention this, Kids might be reading.

Oh, girls are, they always act like that (opsss- yes, they,not me- hehehe) I never packed my bag-not at once but I keep my patient till it last and kick my ex-hus butt of the hauz (lols) Yes,that's what people say- in the end, the wandering husband will come back to its legal wife. But no- sorry- he can come back anytime to see his kids, but not for a second chance. I only say "yes" once and say NO forever. As for boyfriend, I am not searching, but if someone comes along, let time will tell :p

Yes, I am with your children too! You need one. You may be well aware a man's presence for a women, in all respects. May be divorced or seperated with whatever reasons, it is a must and may be circastically or for fun and it shows that they need a man's attention too. You may be thinking it is too late now. Haven't you ever though of the presence of a man at times and all those sweet memories were gone outdated when the man moved away from you. It is not an issue as you are learned and understood how to live with out. Though feel bad, but true of certain things. Whatever it may be, you are there alongwith the sweet children as mom and dad. Tell that for them, you fulfilled the gap as a mom resembling dad as well. So, look out for a man for the rest of the time is totally in your hands. Regards thank-s

Hi, Its officially approved from the kids' that you can now have a boyfriend. How old are they? They are smart kids. My kids have started inventing in our (me & husband)fights. The other day we were telling each other (during such fight) i'll leave you etc and my son (11) started laughing loudly turning to my husband he said - papa, don't you know you will not get another 'Viju' in the market..my daughter (14) added mommy loves papa and they are fighting for our entertainment as there is no comedy show in the TV. our fight then turned out to be a comedy show. Now we both have to think before starting a fight...
