Yesterday I visited the website that belongs to a German art hotel in Berlin. The hotel is called Arte Luise Kunsthotel, every room is unique and the rooms have been decorated by different artists. One room is decorated with pictures of bananes, one room ("nest") is decorated with eggs and a huge beak and in one room there is mural with a man who jumps over the Berlin wall. That is just a few examples, there are many other kinds of rooms. My favourite room is called "the poor poet" and it based on a painting by Carl Spitzweg. I found it very interesting to look at the pictures of the rooms. I am an artist myself and I found it interesting to see the ways that the different artists had chosen to decorate the rooms. They have used many different colours and many different kinds of decorations. It would be a dream for me to decorate my own hotel. I would create a hotel where every room was unique and I would use on unusual materials and decorations. I don't have the money to buy a hotel, it is just a dream. Have you ever stayed in a theme hotel? What did your room look like? If you haven't tried it, would you be interested in staying in that kind of place or do you prefer a simple hotel with neutral colours? Why?

wow procospino, this sounds like a fascinating journey! i have never stayed in a theme or art hotel, but like you, would love to develop some...it would be fascinating to have say, a completely art deco hotel , or a completely impressionistic hotel. i think sometimes it would be preferrable to stay in a more neutral setting, if one is highly tired or stressed, but i think it would be more fun to stay in a theme hotel.

I also think that it would be fascinating to design an art hotel. I would like to create an art hotel where every room was unique. In one room the theme could be impressionism, in the next room the theme could be expressionism, in the next room it could be surrealism etc. In many theme hotels you can choose which room you want to book, and I would have to like to give people the chance to choose their favourite room. Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy my own hotel but I would like to spend the night in one of those hotels. At the moment I am trying to find out if we can afford that hotel in Berlin.

I used to live in a hotel in Incheon, Korea and i love it very much. at that time, i thought that i will decorate my house follow that style, very nice and attractive to me since i get in that room. Till now i have no own house yet but i keep pictures of that room and i still want to decorate my house (may later when i have enough money to buy) follow that style.

It is great that the hotel inspired you to decorate your own house the same way. I hope that you will manage to get your own house in the future. I haven't really seen any hotel rooms that inspired me like that, but I love to look at the websites where there are pictures of unusual hotel rooms. In Bangkok I am going to stay in a theme hotel, and I look forward to seeing the place in person. The art hotel that I mentioned when I started this discussion also sounds interesting, but it is a bit expensive so I don't know if we will be able to spend the night there on the way to Asia (we are going to fly from Germany to Thailand)

The German art hotel sounds lovely. It is interesting that it has been decorated by different artists. It would be amazing if you could buy a hotel and decorate all its rooms individually. I stayed at a youth hostel in Western Australia and its beds all had white duvet covers and pillow covers. That was called Port Augustus Youth Hostel. It looked clean, bright and fresh. It made me feel very happy and comfortable. My favorite style of room is a blue and white coastal one. I get a delight from staying in unusual accommodation like the tree house I stayed in when I went to Belize. It was called Parrot Nest and it was in Bullet Tree Falls. I usually stay in simple looking cheap guest houses. They often have neutral colors and are plain looking.

I remember that you mentioned the tree house in Belize in another discussion. It sounds like a amazing place to stay, I would like to try that one day. I also stay in cheap hotels and guesthouses most of the time. I love the idea of theme hotels where every room is unique, but most of them are too expensive for my budget. In Bangkok I plan on staying in a theme hotel for the first time. It is not close to the sights and I think that it is reason why it isn't very expensive. There are busses, skytrains and metro from the hotel to the sights, so the location won't be a problem. I look forward to staying in a theme hotel for the first time.

I had experienced going to hotels but not a specialty themed ones, as in Its just a generic modern and pretty building.....Though I had experienced going to a themed Motel.....You know the one with rooms for couples... That Motel have a Starwars themed room where the room looks like a spaceship and there is a hologrammed window that makes you feel like in outerspace.... yeah those are motels for couples who wanted an out of this world love making experience. each of their rooms have themes based on movies.

That motel sounds like an interesting place. I like the idea of themes based on movies, and I am sure that it would be possible to create some interesting rooms that way. I like to visit the websites about theme hotels and look at the different rooms that they have created. Those hotels are different from the average hotels and the idea of decorating that kind of hotel really appeals to me, I think that it would be a lot of fun.

Honestly,i haven't seen such a theme hotel. But that's indeed attracting to me.So i would really paint some warm color and also some exaggerate looks, the thing we need to show is the creativity,i suppose. So just make other people love,we have to make it real. So i would really love to go and see if i get the chance. Thanks for share, porcospino.

Yes, creativity is most important thing if we want to decorate that kind of hotel. The artists who decorated that German hotel really used their creativity when they decorated the rooms. It was really interesting to see the different kinds of decorations that they have chosen and every room is unique. I wish that I could spend the night in that hotel when I go to Berlin, but the rooms are quite expensive so I don't know if it will be possible. I would like to make my own art hotel I would use lots of colours and decorations and create a unique place.

I have not stayed in any of the art themed hotel before. Yet as I was browsing through the hotels available on agoda website, I came across several themed hotel around the place that I will be having a short trip to. I cannot recall the name of the hotel but what I saw is that every room in the hotel is themed with different drawings and color which that is really artistic. I have to say it is quite an idea of decorate the interior of a hotel that way. However, I would still prefer to stay in hotel with modern touch that has perhaps white and black color alone in the room which seems modern and simple to me.

I know the Agoda website, I have used that side to find hotels. Which place are you going to visit? It is a place in your own country or abroad? The themed hotels that you describe sound interesting. I stayed in a kind of art hotel in Bangkok and the rooms had different colours and decorations. I found it interesting to stay there and we took many pictures of the room, it was very different from the other places that I have stayed in the past. I am an artist myself so I found it really interesting to see the ways that the artists had chosen to decorate the rooms...

I think that I have read about Hello Kitty hotels once, it must be the perfect place to stay if you like Hello Kitty I have heard that there a many different kinds of theme hotels in Japan, but I have never have been there myself. I think that it could be really interesting to design a theme hotel. I would really be able to use my creativity and there are so many possibilies and things to choose between. It was be a challenge, and I think that I would really enjoy it.
