Ok my point here is do you buy or see the point in buying Designer gear for your Children, Babies Espesially. Ok I do buy designer gear for my kids but i find that most is really expensive and they grow out of it in about a few months so is it really worth it?

No - the only time I ever have - is when it's been a super bargain - I like a lot of the others don't see the point - especially when it comes to young kids or babies - I mean who are they going to impress?? And with having only boys - they don't get into that part of dressing as much as girls!!!

I think it's crazy... the kids don't even know what they're wearing, it just seems like some kind of way for the parents to boost their ego and impress their friends. You can't blame companies for producing expensive designer kiddie duds; as long as there are people willing to buy them...

oh i dont know about that lol my 4 year old comes home from nursary telling us about all the designer gear his friend has got and yes its like such and such got (designer)jeans and a (designer) t-shirt lol. So i think these kids are getting brain washed from a early age. I mean my lot ( lol no pun intended) used to get some designer gear for the likes of their birthdays but not all the time and hardly at all nowadays as we simply can not afford it. I think you darn right about the companies hey if theres always gonna be someone out there willing to spend their cash they will keep churning them out :p
Thanks for your opinon very appreciated :)
Hope you have a nice day

When I was a working single mum of 1 little cute boy then I did because it seemed the right thing to do.
Now I'm a mum of 2 I feel a bit guilty because i don't do it any more. My youngest gets some designer hand-me-downs from his brother but I don't buy designer for either of them any more.
I find Woolworths, Tesco and Asda plenty good enough for playing in. The older one has a school uniform. They're 7 and nearly 3.
When they start asking for certain clothes then I will again but until then it's cheap and cheerful all the way.

well i find that range of clothes just perfect for playing in also also the first ones always seem to get the best of everything but now i have three it is getting way to hard to buy designer stuff so we normaly opt for the shops you said :) my eldest still gets some designer gear as we figured the middle one could always get some use out of it too :p
Thanks for the post hope you have a nice night :)

whats the point..they grow out of it so easily. and you just end up giving it away at the end. i don't think it is worth it. i buy whats on sale. actually a lor of what i have is hand me downs from friends and family, or gifts. i was lucky enough that i didn't have to really buy much clothes for my children. i know probably when they become a teenager they're going to want a few designer clothes, but until then..they don't really care.

Yeh you have a good point also well i see it now as there is not much point unless you have money to burn. It is right that you say they dont really care. Infact the other day we were out to buy my 4 year old jeans and faced with a designer pair and a pair with a picture of scooby doo which do you think he choose ? lol well let me tell you the differance in price was astonshing and my back pocket was jingeling all the way home lol

The only brandnames my daughter wears are ones that were given to us as hand-me-downs or we found at a yard sale. When you factor in growth spurts and the wear and tear you're going to get from a 2-year-old, it's stupid to spend a lot of money.

Yeh thats my point exactly that is why i made the wife slow down on buying designer gear a while back now we do still buy it sometimes if it is on sale an whatnot but the kids just grow so fast. Our 4 year old gets a bit more than the other two so we can pass it down then it at least gets a good wear out of it.

I don't believe to buy designer stuff for the babies it's worth it. Perhaps it will be important when they are going to school - I noticed that kids are very interested in designer stuff and in logos. It may be a very serious problem for them, which sport shoes are the best to wear: Nike, or Adidas, or is there something more 'in' at the moment?
