anyone get sick off of Seroquel? |
| |
| I took a friend's Seroquel once to try to sleep. after about an hour or two, I wasn't sleepy, but I had to go to the bathroom. on my way to the bathroom, darkness began closing in on my eyes. when I got to the bathroom, I started falling against the walls and fell on the floor. after that I puked about eight times. I only took half of a 400mg pill! I don't know what my problem was. anyone else with similar problems? | | | | | |

| | It can be pretty dangerous to be taking someone elses prescriptions -- I am not surprise you got sick -- the dosing range for seroquel goes for 25mg upto 1000mg and has a set dosing schedule be followed, So you got a pretty good dose without your body being prepared for it. Please don't take any more medicines that are prescribed for you it could be really dangerous -- you are just lucky your system rejected it and got it out of your system quickly. | | | | | | |

| | that would be a reaction from the seroquel. I take 200mg nightly to sleep and have had many nights of having to get up and pee and falling down all over the place. the throwing up thing...not sure, maybe an allergic reaction? I know that it has been linked to cause severe symtoms including diabetis and kidney problems. People have even died from it. Being on it, I have to have regular blood tests to make sure everything is fine. | | | | | | |

| | That sounds like what happened to me. Did you build yourself up to 200mg? | | | |

| | Good god, only half a 400mg pill without working up to it? I bet you did nearly pass out and puke. I take 25mg of it for sleep at night and it knocks my butt out. Sometimes as much as 50 but that scares me a bit because sometimes I don't even remember going to bed. Seroquel is supposedly one of those medications that has different pharmacology at low doses and a high doses. Low doses (<100) are what promotes sleep. At rates around 200mg or higher I think it changes, and it can actually be more of an antidepressant and activating. Most importantly is drugs like that, you can't just jump up to high levels. If you want to recieve the benefit of a medicine you have to build it up slowly in the your body or else they make you sick. | | | | | | |

| | That makes a lot of sense. It was just that no one that I have ever spoken to had any adverse reactions like that. My doctor even tried prescribing me to Seroquel and wanted to start me on 400mg. When I refused, he prescribed me to a 1000mg of Depakote. I was more fearful of that drug than any other medication that I have ever taken. Eh, all and all, Seroquel just made me sick as can be. | | | |

| | I've been taking seroquel for 4 years. I take 50mg at night to sleep and 25mg in the day for anxiety. When I started taking it I was on 100 to sleep and it really messed me up but I never threw up from it. It did make me dizzy and sort of falling against the walls. I think you took way too much especially if you never took it before. Never take another persons prescriptions it's not good for you. | | | | | | |

| | Seroquel has given me diabetes. I have never seen a 400 mg pill. But, that is quite a lot for a first time user. | | | | | | |
