Can any One Define Prescription????

I think it is the written order from RMP to the pharmacist to dispence the drug for the patient to treat a specific disease.....how can u define Prescription???

Oxford dictionary gives the following,if you can accept it as a definition.
1."prescribing"(laying down or imposing authoritatively)
2."Physician's(usually written)direction for composition and use of medciine"
