BALTIMORE (Ticker) - Jamie Walker apparently has cashed in on his career season.
The Baltimore Orioles signed the former Detroit Tigers lefthander to a three-year contract on Tuesday.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Baltimore Sun reported Thursday that the deal was worth $11.5 million.
Walker, 35, enjoyed an outstanding 2006 campaign for the American League champion Tigers, going 0-1 with a career-best 2.81 ERA in 56 relief appearances.
The lefty specialist figures to bolster an Orioles bullpen which posted a 5.25 ERA last year, the second-worst mark in the majors.
Walker has played six-plus seasons with Detroit and the Kansas City Royals, going 15-16 with a 3.95 ERA in 383 career games.
The Orioles also re-signed John Parrish to a one-year contract, averting arbitration with the lefthander. Parrish missed the 2006 season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery in July 2005.
