have any of you crafters tried the new Knifty Knitter?  

oh gosh no, you don't have to know how to knit...it's so easy, it's awesome...you can pick up the whole 4 loom kit at walmart for just under $12, and a little book for about $1..the written instructions are hard to understand at first, but with trial and error we eventually got it...it comes with everything you need but the yarn...you use 2 strands of yarn for each one so you can use the same color for both, or use 2 different colors and it looks great!..i'm really thrilled with it...the 4 looms are in sizes from infant to adult, and you can even make shawls with the big one...i haven't tried that yet, but that's next...you really ought to try it...and if you do, i'll be glad to help any way i can while you're figuring it out...

I've seen them, but have not tried them yet. Do you think it would be easier for children to learn than traditional crochet or knitting?

absolutely! It's just a matter of wrapping yarn on the loom basically...I would highly recommend it

well, it was my first one, and took about 3 hours...of course i was slow, cause i was just learning...i love this thing...very easy and all kinds of ways you can make things

definitely quicker...we've known about a winter storm coming for a few days, and last night i realized i hadn't dug out my knit cap yet, so i just made a new one! Best inventions in a while!

it's not hard at all...a child can learn how...it's so super easy, and one of the things i like best is that it's a craft that i can do without having to have my glasses on! please try it, you'll be amazed!

I've been wanting one for a while. I'm waiting for a sale at Michael's or one of their 50% off coupons. I guess I should get in the habit of buying the Sunday paper where they run their ads.

You can also sign up online to recieve Michael's and JoAnn's flyers in the mail they come with the coupons. Also you can use JoAnn's coupons at Michael's they are owned by the same company. Hope this helps.

If you go to yahoogroups and type in knifty knitter, or knitting looms for search terms, you will find a lot of groups and help for learning.
I did that last year.
Someday I hope to get back to using mine.

They have video clips that are a lot of help in figuring out the stitches. Also have some free patterns and things. I found it very helpful.
