Do you practice voluntary simplicity?

i think thats a good thing to do.

I've been trying. Getting rid of items I don't use and trying to eat less. But habits are hard to break free from. But it's something to look forward to. Simplicity! Computers, though, are filled with complications.

That is my or should I say our goal. My husband and myself have three beautiful children and I know that life is full of stress in relation to making sure bills get paid etc..and the stress overflows onto them...(not bad but they can see the stress some days.. especially when I tend to be a bit snappy). Anyhow the last three weeks dh has been out of work due to a back injury...and life has been so low key and so less stressful.. not sure why...however my reason to practice voluntary simplicity is because within the next four years our goal is for dh to stop working a 9-5 job...I am getting done in may of this year...so that I can be home to plant the garden, pick it and can it and do some bargain shopping at grocery stores and thrift stores etc... (when I am working i just don't have the time or the energy).so now I am trying to cut out everything we do not need(forget the mountain dew I just drank, Ugh) When I say everything I mean everything. I posted a topic on how to wash windows with everyday items in your house...believe it or not dh uses vinegar every night on carrots and radishes..(his healthy snack) well lately he has started dumping the extra vinegar back into another bottle.. not the bottle the fresh vinegar comes out of...so i am optimistic this may work.. if you have any pointers please post...

I still have student loans to pay off. I dream of the day when I'm totally free.

I walk as much as possible, especially now with today's gas prices. I don't rent, buy or order movies anymore. I wait for them to come out on sattelite.
