Broncos coach Mike Shanahan announced Monday that Cutler will replace Jake Plummer as the team's starting quarterback for Sunday night's game against the Seahawks, the Denver Post reports.
Recommendation: "I think he gives us the best chance to win now," Shanahan said of Cutler, who Denver selected with the 11th pick in the April NFL draft. Cutler is mobile in the pocket and has the arm strength to be an effective downfield passer, but he'll need to guard against forcing his throws (something he did at times in college) to make an impact out of the gate in the NFL. He's worth a look if you have a spot at the end of your bench, but rookie QBs are always a crapshoot.
