Now this discussion may be going a bit too far! I know people that hae written their college thesis on easier topics! But I'll give you my readers digest version! Job Satisfaction of the employees is dependant upon hours worked and job responsibility and how they are directly compensated for it. the biggest problem in Corporate America today is that wages do not rise nearly the same as job responsibilty increases. If you also take into account the fact that inflation is increasing at a rate higher then we are earning it makes for a lot of unhappy employees and the end of the year. Another problem with wages is corporate downsizing. When corporations downsize they do so in an attempt to increase the profit to stock holders. The money is passed along to corporate executives and stock holders only at the cost of the employee. Often when a corporation downsizes the responsibility of those that are terinated is divided up among those who are still working for the corporation. In most cases there is no wage increase to go along with the increase of responsibility. So a corporation can let go of one accountant who makes $45,000 a year but by the time you take into account all other insurance liabilities on said accountant it saves the corporation upwards of $75,000 for the year. If you do this with multiple employees and with multiple waves of layoffs that gains by executives and stock holders is huge. Shall I go on aout this?
