My 6 year old daughter was just talking about this on fathers day. She was saying I think there should be a kid day. I think shes right. Theres fathers day and mothers day and grandparents day even that is celebrated now but I dont think there is a day totally dedicated to the best thing in the world... kids. My daughter said we should make it our own holiday just pick any day of the year and have our own little celebration. I thought it was a cute idea. She said someday if shes president she will make kids day a national holiday.

I like the guy above me's response: every day, say in the evening, you could choose to go to the gathering to participate in different events - and everyone could come up with their own event and host it there, so some people might play poker together, others might just sit around a campfire and talk, and so on. if this was available to people every night, you can be sure everyone could make it at least sometimes, and people could get closer and it would be less like it is now with everyone being such strangers on the streets. i think maybe one problem could be people would tend to group together with other people they already know well... so getting into a group would have to be a right. i.e. nobody could say "we don't like you, get out of here" unless everyone else voted they should be banned. i don't know, it's a very thought-provoking concept, and i'm all for it. any thoughts on what this gathering could be called?

There is a siblings day or brothers and sisters day in some cultures... I would make it Everyday, Sunrise,Sunset,Noon,Or Midnight would be Sacred Gathering Time. Time to make friends, Time to just hang together and have fun and eat together, where people could choose to participate or not, and many differnt activities would happen daily at these times both community and solitary wise so the community, would be able to help eachother out, and gather to have fun. - DNatureofDTrain
