Christmas gift Stress! HELP!  

Well first of all, its the thought that counts. You can maybe get him a bottle of colonge or something within your budget of course. But dont feel embarrassed.

How about something unique. Are you crafty? My daughters BF is from modest income and he made her a beautiful jewelery box last year. It was hand inscribed. We were all impressed. It's not always the money spent that is important and if they are good people they will know this. Good luck!

well i had this problem once... I made a card wirh vouchers for many things like a massage, going to the movies... I don't thib they would think bad about you if they see that you made a lot of afford

Why not explain to him that you feel embarassed by your inability to provide him with expensive gifts? Suggest to him that you exchange gifts privately! It may be that he is just generous in nature and has no idea this is causing you stress. Is he aware of your financial situation? As far as a gift for him this year, have you thought of making him something more personal? I am crocheting my husband an afghan this year! It will cost me about $8.00 by the time I am finished. What are his interests? Would he be thrilled with a gift certificate for a romantic spaghetti dinner at your house? You just have to be creative! Don't worry too much about what other people think when it comes to gift giving. Whose birthday is it anyway? =)

Sounds to me like you two need to have a good long talk. Someone we love should be someone we can go to with any problem and tell them from the heart how we feel. You should never have to feel uncomforable with them. Set a price limit you will both keep perhaps or work it out so you exchange in private.

SO dont feel bad, if he really understands you then he does understand that you arent rich enough and atleast you do give him something
You do give a gift adding your emotions and that is the best gift the most valuable one

If he loves you, whatever you give him is acceptable. Just talk to him that you could maybe give your gifts in private so as not to embarass you in front of his family. Or talk to him that it makes you uncomfortable not being able to give him back expensive things. Love is patient , love is kind and I know your BF will understand too...

I have to agree with britney69 makeing a coup book is a woundeful idea. THis is a gift that will keep on giving. I come from a big family and we do not have a lot to spend for christmas so what we do is we make a bunch of sugar cookies and cut them into shapes and put iceing ans sprinkles on it. And we buy those cheap can they are like 3 for a dollar at the dollar store and we give them out and the whole family loves it. Hey who does not like cookies. It also shows that you took the time and efort into makeing something for them. As far as the price I think we spend maybe $20. That will go for about 15 people That equalls a lillte over a dollar a peson.

Get him something that is different, think about any skills that you have (art, craft, etc.) or zero in on one area of interest that he has and get something for him in that area that you can afford. Don't feel bad because you aren't rich, he cares for you no matter how much money you have (that is a gift more precious than any of the material things you stated that he gave you).

Instead of an expensive gift, how about a wish list? Write out what you believe are things he wishes for and grant them. At least the ones you are able to.

Make a calander for the entire coming year, highlite certain days and plan an event for that day. It could be hiking, or just watching movies, time is more precious than anything else one has to give. Love colors that time with gold.
