I had always wanted to visit Nashville. Maybe because that is where someone I care for very deeply was from and I always thought I could find him if I went there. But things went my way for a while and I got the chance to visit Nashville with that very person. It was not as elaborate as i thought it would be. maybe I just didnt get to see enough of it. I did visit OpryLand Hotel and WOW! what a hotel! I have never seen anything like that. It was beautiful. As for the city itself, I thought a good bit of it was kind of trashy. I did get to go down around Music Row and the downtown area. Some of that was ok. I guess you could say it is much like most other cities-east,west,north,south-all have certain amount of races they are known for and it seems each one is sterotyped by that. You can tell which part fo cities are the wealthiest and the poorest and it is sad that things like that have to be so obvious in such great cities known worldwide like Nashville is.The government officials there really should do more to keep that city looking better for all the tourists. I did enjoy the mall and the Rainforest Cafe my children loved.

I went to Nashville for Thanksgiving. I have a brother who lives in a suburb of Nashville. I have been there several times. Like you said, the Opryland Hotel is beautiful. My niece works there. There are some parts of the city that are run down. I went downtown the first time I went to Nashville and that was about 10 yrs. ago. I wasn't impressed with it too much either. I think most downtown areas around here are being let go because the businesses are moving out. It's kind of sad.
