i don't because the one time i allowed them to watch, we didn't get much sleep that night coz all three were taking turns waking up, wanting to cuddle up to us. not that we're complaining, though!

personally i don't like hard horror movies myself.. but some like underworld is alright because it's not that scary and grusome (well compare to SAW movies). Some horror aren't that bad actually so if kids want to see them then it's ok.

it's still a no-no where i'm concerned. how can a parent explain the presence of these things they show on film if they're not everyday occurences at all?

No I do not let them watch horror movies. It certainly leaves an impact on them. Once in a while it may be ok but not on a regular basis.

my eldest has outgrown his nightmares, but just the same, no horror movies till all three are grown.

No my kids are not allowed to watch horror movies. Especially the oldest one. He has nightmares anyway. I couldn't imagine what a horror movie would do to him.

i perfectly understand your situation. my 2nd son doesn't have nightmares but he talks in his sleep and usually its about the last thing he did before he went to bed.
