When driving my Caravan, I suddenly lost acceleration and by the time I pulled off the road, it had stalled. I turned off the key and restarted it and it ran fine but after a few miles, it did the same thing. It always starts back up and goes but keeps losing acceleration and stalling. My "Check Engine Light" came on. I took it to my mechanic and it showed it needed a crank position sensor. Replaced the sensor, it ran fine for a week and is now doing it again only worse. My mechanic is baffled by this. Any ideas on what to look for?

Its sounds just like what happened to us when we own a caravan. It ended up having to to with the hoses. It was strange. we would drive along and all the sudden it would just die. Then we would start it after a few minutes and drive for a couple miles and it would do it again.
They told us it was a sensor to but it keep doing it. took it to a different mechanic and he said it had something to do with the hose. The were getting pinch shut somehow so he redid them. worked fine after that.
sold it a couple of months later and never bought a dodge again.

yeh that could be the problem :p as what happens with the sensor is when its broken it cant read the carbon minoxide levels or something properly so it tells the computer it thinks the car is running wrong and tries to shut it down then when you restart it it starts the readings all over again then does the same thing now i would suspect that if the pipes are blocked then this could cause the same kind of reaction. I havnt heared of this but it could be a good explanation as t why its hapening :p

well yeh my dad had the same problem with his old cavalier it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor but he was told it could be a few things like the servos or the dinamos. It could be a faulty choke or fuel pump or even choked injectors. In saying that if your engine managment light is coming on then it definatly sounds like the crankshaft sensor again i know it sounds daft but do you really know if it was a brand new one he put in :p as if it was a second hand one theres a big chance its simply did the same thing. hope this helps but if you ask me your best going to a dealer of the caravan and getting them to put it on a diagnostics machine it may be able to decifer it better :p
Ok have a nice day
