Cell by Stephen King

I thought this book was fabulous! It was very scary though to think that something like that could happen. I know quite a few people who are on their cell phones all the time. I am going to need to keep an eye on them from now on. Stephen King turned out another page turner!

I have not read it, but saw it in the store the other day. It looks interesting. Was it good? Most of his books are great. What is is about?

As an avid reader I was enthused to hear of King's return to pure horror. When I found out the book was about technology and terror I couldn't resist seeig the spin King would yarn on this subject. The book begins well enough, the usual "band of believers" surviving the "Pulse" and seeking answers. Then the book drops the call. The book was headed for a solid four star review until the end. The ending was completely contrived, as if written to meet a deadline later that same day. What was the Pulse? I don't know. Who was behind it? You got me there too? What about Clay's son? Who knows. What of the rest of the gang? Nothing. No word on anything. End the end "The Pulse" was weak and shortly faded completely. King flatlined on this one. Good idea, bad book.

I havent been a fan of king's latest books, but when I read cell I thought finally, he's got his talent back! I loved the whole idea of our cell phones taking us over. It's that whole "our inventions surpass us" thing. Very well written.

I agree that the ending was fairly weak. I wouldn't go as far as to say it was a bad book. Though King did leave us wondering about a lot of the plot, I think he did a great job putting us inside Clayton's head. I know I almost cried every time he found one of Johnny's notes.

"PLEASE COME GET ME" almost killed me.

I love that Stephen King has gone back to his horor/disaster books. This is now a foavorite, up there with The Stand. I love the way this book reads,and the fact that the villain is something most people use on a daily basis.The people who survive are a group of people who would normally not stand out in a crowd. I love that he left us hanging at the end, it how he works.

I just finished it as well. I thought it was one of his better books. The creepiest part is that something like that is actually plausible. The only thing I didn't like was the end. I wanted to know what happened to Clay's son. Did the experiment work or what? I guess he left it open for everyone to draw their own conclusions. It's a great book though. I could hardly put it down!

I have read many books of S, King, but for three years I have heavy sight problems I have and I do a lot of effort to read, unfortunately have not read it, hope let the film.

I was never one for reading, but I got introduced back into reading and I was offered this book to read. I really enjoyed it, and actually started looking around to see how many people in the world carry a cell phone now adays. Its actually really scary if you ask me.
