Hair today .... gone tomorrow

Long tresses of hair in a woman have always been a major enticement to attract the opposite. Although women’s hair comes in shades of dark and light, it is the thick black glossy hair typical of Indian women, especially the Keralite women..that is the most appealing . Sure, a combination of blue eyes, fair skin and blond hair as in found in many countries in the West, is attractive but are you aware that 90% of blondes in America are dyed blondes from their teenage years itself? The beautification of a woman’s hair with shampoos and conditioners has spawned a billion dollar industry around the world with ridiculous claims ...none of which scientifically have proven to make a difference . It is also a pity that these have been experimented on animals like rabbits first . Did you know that several of the wigs made for the West in reality have come from religious and pious south Indian women who have shaved their hair off at Tirupathi? ..it has become a profitable business now . Unlike the pompadour hairstyles of women in the US ..like Dolly Parton and other country music stars.whose foreheads are not visible ..isn’t it far more chic to see our Indian women with their luxurious hair pulled back in the form of a braid or a bun? I think so . Have you ever been to a hair salon? There are hundreds of them in every city in the US and they are always busy.. Why shouldn’t we show off one of our best assets? . Even if one has to put up with the trashy conversations and the sordid soap opera life of the hairstylists, we still have to have her hair done, don’t we? Fortunately unlike men, where the baldness rate is 60% after the age of 50 it is rare to see a woman losing all her hair ..but when that does happen it is catastrophic and altogether pathetic . And finally, I am surprised that no mystery writer in the world has used women’s long hair to strangle a cheating husband in his sleep instead of the usual stabbings and shootings. What is your say??..
