I want to research how one would be able to convince Aboriginals that
building a health care facility would be beneficial to them and also
because I am interested in aid marketing and not-for-profit marketing. I
want to target the government and aid organisations to fund the process
too.
What I know about the culture is that I can not just tell them that I am
going to build a hospital and I would like to offer them jobs - I have to
find out exactly what they want and let them decide on what can be done.
So basically my assignment would be structured around information on the
Aboriginal culture and how to convince them.
If something like this was done, it would offer them services and
employment.
What I would like to ask you is, since I was told you worked with
Aboriginal people, how would they tackle a concept of a health care
facility, not necessarily a hospital, just the idea of a health community
centre?
How would one treat them and convince them that western medecine is a
good idea?
Are there links between Aboriginal traditional medicine and Western
practices?
Do you know of a certain community where it would be easier to suggest
such a proposition?
Any other information about the Aboriginal culture and whether I would be
able to get workers and volunteers would be helpful too.
Finally would you mind if I had this email interview in my Assignment
mentioning that I had asked you questions and recieved answers from you?
I also know that the concept of time is different to them and that they
would possibly like a health community which is open and lets their
family and friends come in at any time.
I also know that if I tell them what to do they will not stay and so in
my assignment I should write that a relationship should be established
and it would take me a while to get my project going.
