For me, unlike life insurance, health insurance is a must. They are worth paying for because of the high cost of health care without it. In my opinion, health insurance is a need instead of a want simply because we're paying for some actual services that we will get. There is a tangible gain before we bite the dust, very much unlike life insurance policies.

i see your point. it's just that with life insurances, you get to earn dividends at the end of a certain year, for instance. with health insurances, isn't it that you still have to pay for the dues whether or not you get sick? there's not return of investment in that, is there? i'm contemplating of getting myself a health insurance, the reason why i posted this discussion.

Before you get a health insurance plans, check first the credibility of the company that is offering that plan. That if its good, then go for it. I think health insurances are worth paying for. Its really helpful interms of emergencies and times when you dont have money to pay for consultation and hospital bills. IF you have this, you no longer worry that much on where to get money for your hospitalization/consultation. Just make sure that you enroll in a good stable company/insurance.

i get your point, thanks. but what if you don't get sick during a certain year, you'd still need to pay for the dues, there's no return of investment whatsoever, is there?

i've been thinking about getting one. but i'm wondering if it's really worth it, considering that you get to pay the dues whether or not you get sick.

so you have health insurances, then? do you pay annually? what if you don't get sick for the whole year, do you get sort of a refund or whatever?

am not sure, but i would like to invest in one. i want to invest in a good health insurance plan of a good company - preferably one time investment. am looking for one which gives treatment coverage for every problem in the best hospitals, if possible worldwide, or in India, for life. do you have any suggestions or advice. thanks
