I never knew that about the origins of the word meditation, but it does seem fitting. Yes I feel that I need to meditate, it helps me to feel much calmer and problems do not concern me as much as they did before I started my meditation practice. I suppose meditation is healing because it cleanses our mind and soul. It is quiet time that we give to ourselves to return, some would say, to a place of wholeness, and in doing this we become cleansed and our mind becomes purified.

The meditation is really helpful to those who serious practice it methodically. Though it is just a suspension of thoughts, there is more to it. Once can even think of what one wants to do, and canc concentrate on this during meditation. This gives greater inner strength required to execute what is in the mind. I practice it for 30 minutes a day and It is doing a lot.

When I meditate I use that time to reflect on my life and pray about things. I pray about my life and ask God for guidance in things that need to change in my life to make it better and to better serve God.

I do it every night for at least 15 minuts. It is great. It is like just me and Universe.

I don't feel I need to do it often, but I do get the feeling that I should do it sometimes, simply because I feel down, or just can tell that a nice meditation session would really throw me back into balance and help things along.
