I'd really like a handheld device that can accurately translate speech into text. That way instead of killing your eyes and thumbs, you can just dictate into the device and it will create text documents for you. You could dictate blog entries, or even snappy responses to Mylot discussions.

My brain also never stops, and makes random movements at the last second. My analog brain will make its digital silicon brain explode in sheer frustration and total bewilderment!

lol!...so maybe it's best for out little gadget friends if they come with self destruct mode so they can end their misery early!...plus they can take out people they don't like! lol!

Your current phone must have a good keyboard, if you can blog from it. I have a cheap phone with just a regular phone keypad, if I do more than a simple text message on it, it's excruciatingly slow and annoying.

Since I'm a writer I may also get a very small and light laptop, some of the Sony VAIOs only weigh a few pounds. I actually have an old Windows 98 VAIO without an optical drive that I used to carry around just for word processing and note taking, it only weighed 2 lbs.

I only have a regular phone keypad, but I have become very adept at using it. I can type probably 15 WPM with my phone keypad. It doesn't sound all that fast, but with all of the extra clicking you have to do it is very fast.

It's amazing what a person can learn to do with two thumbs when they have lots of practice!

Haven't heard of Dopod, but have heard a few people mention it. Who makes it? Maybe it's something that's not sold in the U.S.

I've heard of it hear on Mylot, but not before. Do you know who makes it? Maybe it's not sold in the U.S. (yet, anyway). It seems most of the people who've mentioned it live in Asia or elsewhere outside the U.S.

Thanks, didn't know that about the thumbwheels. That's a big factor, since you use the thumbwheel so much. I've heard good things about Treos.

I'd really like on-the-go access to email, and also at least some form of Web browsing.
