do you think Barney really helps the learning capability of our kids?

I am not a huge fan of the purple dino. My boys (3 and 5) watch them occasionally though. One thing i realise about barney is that they do teach many songs to the children even if some are 'recycled'. It probably helps a little with language because the more you use it, the better you get (eg: sentence structure). And kids love to sing anyway. Something taught through song stays longer in the child's brain than reading or telling. God bless!

i am not a huge barney fan but my grandaughter likes him she is only going on 3 but she sings along with the songs so she has learned some skills there, but i do fail to see any real learing value fron the big purple guy

Personally he drives me nuts but my 2 year old daughter loves to sing along with him and watches him every morning, hes better then the telatubbies, I cant understand a thing they say, so how can they learn from that.

I don't believe he's educational. I think Sesame street, blues clues and other shows are more educational. One of my son's favorites is Elmo's World I like that show teaches them so much.
