do you think Barney really helps the learning capability of our kids?

I am not a huge fan of the purple dino. My boys (3 and 5) watch them occasionally though. One thing i realise about barney is that they do teach many songs to the children even if some are 'recycled'. It probably helps a little with language because the more you use it, the better you get (eg: sentence structure).
And kids love to sing anyway. Something taught through song stays longer in the child's brain than reading or telling.
God bless!

Personally he drives me nuts but my 2 year old daughter loves to sing along with him and watches him every morning, hes better then the telatubbies, I cant understand a thing they say, so how can they learn from that.

Barney has done more than Fred, Wilma, or Betty has.

I don't believe he's educational. I think Sesame street, blues clues and other shows are more educational. One of my son's favorites is Elmo's World I like that show teaches them so much.
