Negative rating for saying thanks.

If I say thanks to people who have responded with a single sentence, than I am getting negative ratings. I have lost quite a few points for commenting like this. I think they are being too harsh. They need not credit us any thing but why take a point for saying thanks. What do you say?

The rating is what is beside your name. Your rating is 367 at present. It keeps increasing as you post. You are paid 05 cants to 10 cants per post.

I always tell everyone. Thanks for posting or something like that and I haven't noticed that it has had any affect.

I have also noticed this today only. Good for you, if you are not being negatively rated.

Are you sure you are not losing points for another reason? You shouldn't be able to see whether someone gives you a + or - rating, so it could be that a discussion you particpated in was deleted which is lowering your number.

I purposely did it twice today and lost my points for it. Just write a comment saying thank you and you may lose a point. I think they are doing it to discourage single sentences. See beside comment, posts they write be as descriptive as possible. Also I have not lost rating when I have been descriptive.
