I was wondering about what and who shape our life. We come across so many people, books etc and they do influence us. But some have profound effect.
It canm be mother, father, teacher, friend, some celebrity, some historical figure, sportsmen, books etc.
I have been greatly influenced by my mother, many teachers, few books like Bhagvad Gita, Atlas Shrugged, Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
Personalities like Tiger Woods, Amitabh Bachhan, Mahatma Gandhi, Adam Smith.
There may be few who have influenced you. It will be nice to know.

I would have to say my mom and my oldest brother have been huge influences on my life. Also my uncle Paul who passed away in 1999. he was also a major influence on me

The close relatives have a great influence on us. They shape and inspire us throughout. It is to fulfill their wishes, at times, that we go to great length.

I would support your argument
and you have included what most people would include.
In my case I was influenced very much
by two of my employers which I came
across in my working life.
One was a ACTUARY !! now deceased.
One was a businessman still alive.

As to my career, the good teachers played a major role.
Especially two Professors in the
Sydney University Accounting School.
