Is it true that veal is made from baby cows and are shackled at birth so they can never walk for morheard from somebody I know, went to school to be a chef. And he told me that veal meat was made of baby cow. Which I knew that, but he told me that the animals are put in shackles at birth and are never let to walk so that the meat is tender. I bought a jar of veal baby food. And was feeding it to my 9 month old baby. and I asked him what veal was, because I didn't know. and he told me that the animals are put in shackles at birth and are never let to walk. It is my understanding that the us is careful about cruelty and abuse to animals. And I'd consider that cruelty and abuse. If this is thew case, then why would the us allow that? Or is it a myth? I'd like to know. because I have not fed my children veal sence then.
