People around us sometimes complain about their blood pressure. Some have low blood pressure, the rest have high blood pressure. But the attention tends to the high blood pressure. Actually which one more deadly? Both of them are risky?

I feel that high blood pressure is more dangerous than low, because high blood pressure can lead to various other dreadful diseases like myocardial infarction (heart attack), cerebrovascular accident (stroke), TIA, diabetes, stress, etc which can cause even deaths. Even though low blood pressure is also dangerous but comparitively I would say you should be worried more about high blood pressure than low.

Both are dangerous conditions but hypertension gets more press because more people have it. As we continue to live on unhealthy lifestyles and high on fat diets, hypertension will continue to rise. I'm not a doctor but I think hypertension is much more dangerous because hypotension is easier to treat and has less side effects.

i agree that both are dangerous conditions, but i believe hypertension is easier to treat because there are many medications that can do that, while low blood pressure doesn't have that much because it's not as popular or widely used as those being used in hypertension. my dad's doc used to tell us (when we complain about my dad's high bp) that it's easier for the BP to go down than for it to go up.
