I've been working from home for 20 years so that I could take care of my children. Then along came my son. Severe Obsessive Compulsive, ADHD & Bipolar. Oooooh it didn't start there, many family members before that. Mom suffered for years many anxiety related mental illnesses before there were names for them. My sister suffered horribly and still does. Several addicts etc... But my son is the inspitation for my screen name, however hahahaa! It's really not funny what these people suffer, and it's certainly not funny what I have to go through as a caregiver, but you know?... if I don't laugh, I'll jump off a bridge,.... or SOMETHING hahahaa! Fortunately, I've managed to find humor in the actions of people who suffer mental illness. They do too many times! I think it's time that mental illness be open discussion, that the rituals, habits, fears of the mentally ill be addressed and confronted? I suffer manic depression, simply low doses of medication help me and make me able to help others. I have seen it all and over time, here in Mylot, I will discuss some of my many experiences. Laugh with me, cause, believe me, it's amusing... at least to me it is. I believe that we all have our phobias etc... I think we all suffer a tad, and with the world becoming the votex that it's becoming, we may as well roll with the punches. I find that many of the mentally ill people I know in my life have found a place on the internet to be able to better understand that there is beauty in who they are and what they can become. I know that this initial post is somewhat unorganized, but I say, let's talk about it. I believe we can learn from one another. I believe the mentally ill, need people who care and empathize, but so do caregivers! Let's talk about it!

I'm bipolar, too. I've started a topic on being bipolar but no one really posted to it. I hope people will to this topic so that maybe they can start to understand what we go through.
