| Iron maiden the origin  | | | |  Well the name Iron maiden has a medieval origin meaning a iron housing that can accommodate an adult within it .It was a medieval torture device cast from iron to resemble a maiden and had movable nails to inflict torture and pain to the person housed within it .Though the name was conceived by the bassist from the band steve harris after seeing the movie "Man in the iron mask ".The band debuted the with the initial album titled "Iron maiden " in 1980 and the legacy continues till date to "a matter of life and death "released in 2006.
