2006 a year in review (Mylot)

What marked 2006 for you guys? Politics -Shiites and Sunnis killed each other in Iraq. -Fatah and Hamas followers killed each other in Palestine. -Israel and US asked "what about us?" & Israel got a scolding for Lebanon -The non-arab/african Muslim population still wish the Arabs would move to a different planet. -Iran and North Korea, need I say more? -UN has succeeded in reaching their average number of "stern warnings-per-year" rate. Games- -Sony's PR and Software department managed to screw the PS3 even more than the PSP. -MS learned from their mistakes, and the X360 has had many good original games, and is no longer a "port-playing-machine" like the Xbox. -The Wii has sold faster than the X360, Xbox and GC did in the same period of time. -Zelda just wasnt that good. Gadgets- -The ZUNE launched, 300+fake zune blogs were created, nobody cared -The Macpro pwned every branded PC, in price and features,and has become Apple's fastest-selling Mac -Linux got itself yet another 200,000 distros, still too dumb to group together and get a definitive Distro that software developers can get behind. -Vista had 10 features dropped, a youtube video of every "new feature" already functioning on OSX was technorati's video of themonth for 3 months. -The Gizmodo came and went, with a story worthy of a Hollywood movie. Entertainment- -The US comics industry once again survived on the back of 30-60year old franchises. -*yawns* any good movie this year? Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is a whole movie? -X-Men 3, Superman Returns, Yet another James Bond flick...add many remakes, in other news, the US movie industry is becmoing like the US comic industry. -A whole load of great peple died. -New Rammstein dvd "Volkerball" rocked. -NIN and Pearl Jam's latest album too. -U2 won every other Grammy, nobody cared. -"Lost" started to suck, "BSG" seemed to jump the shark, and "Heroes" looks good. -In anime, Trinity Blood was ok, but the last arc unwritten, XXXHOLiC was good, Ergo Proxy and Black Lagoon are the future. -GANTZ went on a break, Hellsing has tripled manga anthology sales and Full Metal Alchemist manga is as good as always. -Mylot ruled Personal life -Worked less, slept more -Started drawing daily, got a wacom. -Moved to a farm, got my gardening tools, and 6 months later, a small lake and little bird paradise awaits me after work. Hopes for 2007 -Hoping that "Apocalypto","Spidey 3", "300" and "Transformers" will be good. -Wish to draw more, work less. -Post more on Mylot
