| Furniture Restoration  | | | |  Do any of you restore furniture? I have tried to restore some old wood furniture, but I did not get the result I was hoping for. Any tips would be appreciated.

| |  When restoring furniture make sure
you pick good quality wood, such as
mahogany.
Strip all the polish off , bring it down to the original wood.
Then french polish it if you know how.

| |  The higher quality of the furniture, the better the final result. Use a warm oil-based stain to deepend the color and at least 3 coats of lacquer (there are brush-on versions) NOT polyurethane. Adding a coat of amber shellac after the stain will help warm the entire piece and seal in any contamination.
