How the media is raising our kids

I don't like the fact that my daughter thinks that she should be able to dress like Brittney Spears. This is her favorite role model and I think that at one time Brittney Spears was an innocent young lady who loved her music career and her fans. Now all I see is someone who is helping our kids to act the way that she has been acting. I indeed think that as parents we are the biggest influence on our children but I don't think that I should have to explain to my child about the reason she can't dress like her or why I no longer wish for her to listen to her music. Parenting is hard enough without bad influences and I do understand that no matter what there are always going to be influences like this but I just wish that my child wouldn't want to be just like them. What do you think about the role that celebrities have on our children?

I just think that the media should give all of us parents a helping hand for a change.

I defiantly agree with you and some people say that we shouldn't let our kids watch such programs but lets face it we can't keep a close eye on them twenty four seven, now can we?
