I have visited venice:)

I have been to Venice in 1986. I was staying at a hotel in Firenze and decided to make a 1 day train trip to Venice. It was a rainy day (not really hard rain, but little short showers). When I arrived to Saint Marcus Square I felt overwhelmed, even when the big Cathedral was covered by black cloth, as they were restoring it. I went upstairs the Two Moors Clock Tower (I'm not sure if it's called this way in English) and walked up and down the streets of Venice, along the channels. Late in the evening I returned to Firenze, but I think it was in Siena train station that we had to wait for a long time, as the train workers had gone on strike (sciopero). I arrived to Firenze late in the night and could not find any open restaurant, till I found a little one, where there was no more clients than me and my trip mates. I would like to return and spend more time there, as it is a wonderful town.

Venezia is unique!!

I've been to Venice...but...I really wasn't that impressed. It was hot and smelly, and I think I would have enjoyed it much more had it not been the middle of August when I was there.

I visited Venice last summer....it is a very beautiful city
