Prussia is part of Baltic, German, Russian and Polish history.
Until 13 century in Prussia existed ~12 small states of prussians (prussians = baltic people which language was very close to lithuanian and latvian languages).
then Germans started "Drang nach Osten" (German for "Drive towards the East") campaigns. with support of polish, bohemian and rest europe crusaders and blessing from POPE they created knights orders to christianize and occupy Prussians. After 100 years long wars Prussians was defeated and new era of Prussia started. it was mostly german ruling era. After expanding of Prussia (they merged with brandenburg) real prussia was called East Prussia.
Officially until 17/18 century prussians was asimilated and started to use german language in communication.
After world war prussia teritory was occupied by Poland and USSR. They organized mass deportations and allmost all germans/german speaking prussians was forced to left their homeland.
Now it is big problem since many germans/germanized prussians want to have back their homes and lands in East Prussia which now belongs to Russians or Polish.
Prussian language is still alive since there is now again those who speak in prussian, but their language is reconstructed from oldprussian language. they have their own communities and forums on internet. Here is one:http://forum.prusai.org/home
They are trying to do everything for baltic prussian recognizing in the international arena.
BUT the biggest part of those who have real prussian
ancestors live in Germany or all over the world because of USSR made deportations.
