Why are we addicted to Star Wars  

I would love it if there were more star wars movies. I heard that originally they were planning on making 9 of them. I wish they would. I'd like to find out what happens to Hans and Lea and their children.

in some ways i would love to see more movies as the 6 are great, but then again, it could go down hill if there where too many. isn't george lucas working on a tv series of the time between episodes 3 and 4? those should be cool. we really enjoyed the animated clone wars too. star wars is a legend, guess thats why we are addicted. it spans most of my life and its always been there.

I, as a child indentified with Luke, especially not knowing who his father was. I was fortunate to have a mother who entertained me in the late 70's with this story. I had all the toys. I sensed a kind of hope and imagination that influenced me in a such a way, that it still effects me to this day. I love them. The greatest story ever told. Has everything. Hero, villain, rise and fall of a man and a society. When I was a kid I knew about the nine parts of the story. I knew that the original trilogy was the middle set of the saga. Lucas designed to tekk the entire story but due to film costs and time he had to start with the core of the story which is the original trilogy. The last three movies have been written and you can find the screen plays online. Luke restores the Jedi Council and academy. The Emperor is still alive through a recloning process that will be used to bring back Vader. Leia fights her father. Luke fights the EMperor. Mara Jade fight a clone Luke. Its crazy but its the little things like Luke finding his original hand that was preserved when it was thought to be lost on Bespin. He reattaches it. That stuff. I also heard rumors of bringing back the orignal cast. Kinda weird. But hey its Star Wars and anything is better than nothing. More live action films would be awesome.

No easy answer to this, but Lucas designed the movies after Campbell's work on mythology. Myths touch our collective humanity, and the movies tap into that.

There is something for everyone in these movies. They have romance action comedy all the crazy characters mystery it just always keeps you wanting more.
