...and, true to form, the dropping barometric pressure has my pain trying to climb right past the vicodin. When I was younger I couldn't fathom how people could feel weather in their bodies, but now I see that it happens to me on a regular basis. How many of you with health issues, feel a flare up just before or during inclement weather? What do you do to cope with it?

I know exactly how you feel..the weather affects me too in different ways. I can tell what the weather is going to be by where my back is hurting, and I broke my collarbone about 15 years ago, and if we're really going to get a whopper of a storm (severe thunderstorm or hard winter storm) it really starts hurting!...all i can do is sit for a while, stand up and move around for a while, sit in a hot bath, and I've found something that really does help...I get it at Walmart for about $5, it's called Village Naturals Therapy for the Bath...they have about 3 different types, the one for aches and pains is a green liquid and you just pour a little in your bath...it's a natural liquid mineral bath and it really does help.

I'll probably hit the soak just before I get ready to bundle myself up in bed!

I know all about the weather and barometric pressure changes ... my flippin osteo-arthritis and fibromyalgia are the best weather forecasters going hehehe !! Of course we cannot make the weather change just to suit us ..but I do listen to the daily weather forecasts on TV .. if a sudden change is forecast I know I am in for some painful days ... so I try and get all my activity type jobs done .. so that when I have the bad days I can take it easy and rest ... We just have to live our lives according to the weather forecast .. sometimes in the middle of winter when it's very cold for a week or more I don't even open the door .. and sometimes I am too bad to even get out of bed for very long .. But I know once the barometer starts to rise again my pain levels will go down ..

well yes you do feel a sudden change in your body with a change in temperature it is usually cough or cold for me and i know its all due to weather change Its really difficult to cope the transition in my country when it is from spring to winters! cuz you have to make an immune from hot to really cold But then i do eat lots of stuff depending on the temperature to cope with it

Well im only 27 so im sure the worst is still to come but i have early onset arthritis in my knees and any time it gets damp out (in ontario this is pretty much constantly) but really damp before were going to get poured on my knees just absolutly ache and its ridiculous i cant imagine what itll be like if i live to be 80. As for the pressure dropping or rising i have noticed that this makes people act really weird when theres a big pressure shift, it really seems to affect peoples moods, people argue with me all the time about this but i swear it really does something weird to people when there are big pressure changes. You must have severe pain if vicodin cant even manage it, hopefully things will settle down for the holidays so you can enjoy whichever of them you participate in.

I can feel the cold weather too! Where I live everyone has allergies or sinus problems for at least 6 months out of the year. When I go to Florida, my sinus problems mysteriously disappear.

I'm only 32, but when it gets cold outside, my joints hurt, my bones feel like they hurt.. it's not fun. I hate to see what I'll be like the older I get. I don't have fibro that I know of,or arthritis or anything, but I've been seeing a neuro to find out what I do have. (I have a lot of family members with fibro, and my mother has MS). At this point, I just have "issues". LOL I don't do anything for the pain felt when it's cold out. I just take my meds for general nerve pain, and that's about it. All i know is that it sucks!

I have health issues that flare up with when it rains, snows, or even just gets a little too cold for me. So far, I really haven't found a doctor who is willing to treat my pain effectively, so for right now (it is damp and cold here), I am just having to suffer.
