Opinions sought on garbage charge

A HEARING will be held Thursday on a proposed garbage disposal fee when the public can voice their opinions to the municipal bureau of industry, commerce and pricing. The municipal urban management office had suggested collecting the fee to help fund the construction of the city’s garbage disposal facilities, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported Tuesday. One plan is to charge every family 15 yuan (US$1.8) per month and each institution 139 yuan for each ton of garbage.
