What is the main reason people choose to become foster parents?

wow that is a good question i think that a good foster parent does it because maybe they have always wanted kids and couldn't have any and this is what they do to become a parent to make a difference in the life of a child to offer them love and security when they have never had it

I wish it was for love,but I know better as far as the majority goes it is the money. I wish I could become one I believe all children deserve to be loved by at least 1 person.

Well I can of course not answer for other people but I can very well tell you my reasons for considering to foster.

I did not know,until today/now, after reading some remarks here, that foster parents get compensated for caring for these kids.

I am just considering it purely for the reason that after raising my 4 sons and them having flown the nest, so to speak, I find the quite house very disturbing and miss the noise kids always makes. I miss having them to care for, I miss having someone to hug and hold close.I miss to banter with them just for the heck of it. I miss to joke around and do things together. I have a heart bursting with love to give and no child to give it to at home.

Those are just some of the reasons I am considering it.

I have wanted to become a foster parent for years. My life circumstances have not allowed me to do so. I want to because I love children and I feel I could make a positive difference in the life of a child trapped in the system. If I could make a child feel loved for a small time in their life..it can make all the difference.

we like to think, its because they can't have a child of thier own. But everyone case is unique.
