Do you remember when soda, coke, pepsi, etc. was in a glass bottle?

I do remember. It was better. I remember taking the bottles back with my mom. We thought it was great when she would get money off of her order for them.

lol.. not old, aged with grace!!!
When I was in college the frat house I was a little sister to still had a the pony bottles of coke and diet coke in an old fashioned machine. They somehow still got them for a long time and sold them for 25 cents a bottle, the price it cost to buy them from the coke factory. Little did we know we had one of the last working machines around!!! By that time everyone purchased either 2 liters or cans.

I've only seen coke bottles (glass) for special occasions and sold for more than average in like a 4 pack or somthing. Are they bringing it back in glass bottles as an every day packaging?

So many drinks are now found in aluminium cans! Not only is this environmentally unfriendly (the energy to make one can is enough to keep a light bulb lighted for a week I hear), but it loses the sense on nostalgia I get when I see those old Coke bottles.

I guess that's why we should recycle the aluminum for sure! I still think you cannot beat an ice cold soda from a bottle!

Do I remember! Grandma here!!! I carted those bottles back to the corner store to get bus fare to work and to school. I had a roommate who thought she was too good to sell the bottles, so I sold my bottles and her bottles, so I made a lot of money selling those bottles. LOL. They were sooooo heavy.
The drinks were colder and tasted better then.

In some states they do the recycle fee (now what they call it) but here in PA they don't.

Yes, I remember pop in the glass bottles, too. We're all giving away our age here, you know! It did taste better from glass!! In NY State all of our cans and bottles have a $.05 deposit, so I still have to take cans to the store for the deposit return. In this case, cans are better- they are lighter and easier to get there!

here in the Philippines, most of the sofdrinks are still in glass bottles. those in tin cans are common as well, but the ones that were sold in plastic bottles are those in 1.5 liters. the rest sizes are sold in glass bottles and tins. and its true, it tastes better than those kept in plastic bottles.

Wow... I can't believe you still have them in bottles! How neat! I wish they made them that way for us too still!

I must be the odd one out here. I actually prefer the plastic bottles. I think it's because the glass one kept hitting off my teeth and I hate that. I think the plastic bottles are safer for the kids too.

I think the plastic is more convenient to carry with us and such but the flavor is best out of glass if you ask me!!! lol
