if your talking about the music i read somwhere that the sound the guitar makes was reffered to as skat beat and it eventually became known as ska
The first person to record 'ska' rhythms was Ernest Ranglin while performing with Cluet Johnson. One day he was told to "make the guitars go ska! ska! ska!", and that is supposedly the way the name ska was born.
