I think Tom Petty's lyrics are poetry..what do you think of them?

He's definitely one of the best musicians out there. I think he got better the last years. Wildflowers and his new album are fantastic!! He could do it without the Heartbreakers, and offcourse his lyrics are great, he writes about things who happen to everybody. They'll fit in your life, if you like it or not.

I didn't know he was doing music for the NBA... you mean he's writing music to play behind highlight sequences, etc.? I like most of his stuff going back to the beginning, American Girl, Breakdown, etc. and up to the present. Haven't heard too much from his recent CDs, though, since radio has gotten to a point where stations only play the top hits and album cuts don't get played too much, like they did in the '80s.
