Binky Patrol gives quilts to kids and families who need them. Might be in shelters, might be in foster care, might have lost a loved one. All kinds of people. No special pattern, the only requirements are at least 36 inches square and machine washable. If you can cut and sew squares of fabric together, you can do this. See the site for more encouragement at www.binkypatrol.org

I tried to quilt once before. It didn't turn out so good. My problem was that I bought the squares online and they were all different sizes. Maybe I should try again and do it the right way this time.

You didn't do it wrong. You just need to overcome this minor setback. It is really simple too. Just add a border to the smaller square to make them all the same size.

Well, you can start small. But with strip piecing, you can do a baby quilt in a couple hours easy. You don't have to quilt the layers together, you can tie them, which is pretty too.

Wow, thanks this is something I've been thinking about doing in my own area, but I'm checking this out for sure.
Making quilts is something to do just for fun for me and my husband doesn't want me keeping all of them so I have to give them away and this is perfect.
Thanks for sharing.
