how did they carry Statue of Liberty from France to New York?

I'm not exactly sure. If I had to guess, I'd say they probably took it peice by peice - not whole. And, since planes weren't around, I'd say it came by ship. Whether or not they made more than one trip, I'm not sure. If they had to, though, I'm sure they probably did. She would do much good if you only had half of her.
